About this tool

Restore text from a Base64 string without sending it to a decoding service. The output must be valid UTF-8 text; invalid binary content is rejected instead of being silently replaced with unreadable characters.

When to use it

  • Read encoded text in test data.
  • Check a Base64 encoder round trip.
  • Inspect multilingual text supplied by another system.

How to use it

  1. Paste the Base64 string without a data-URL prefix.
  2. Choose Decode and review the text.
  3. Copy or download the decoded text.

Input and output example

Input

SGVsbG8=

Output

Hello

Important details

  • This decoder produces text, not image files or binary downloads.
  • A data:image/... prefix is not part of the Base64 string.
  • Base64 decoding does not verify authenticity or decrypt protected data.

Frequently asked questions

Why is some Base64 rejected?

It may be malformed, or its decoded bytes may not form valid UTF-8 text.

Can it decode a Base64 image as text?

Image bytes are binary data. This tool is intended for UTF-8 text, not rendering arbitrary image payloads.
