About this tool

Check whether a JSON document follows JSON syntax before using it in a request or configuration. The result shows the top-level type and entry count; errors do not overwrite the output with a copyable error message.

When to use it

  • Check JSON before an API request.
  • Inspect a configuration after editing.
  • Identify missing quotes, brackets or commas.

How to use it

  1. Paste JSON or read a local .json text file.
  2. Choose Validate JSON and read the status.
  3. Review the value type, then copy or download the checked JSON.

Input and output example

Input

{"enabled":true,"items":[1,2]}

Output

Valid JSON · object · 2 top-level entries

Important details

  • Syntax validation is not JSON Schema or application-level validation.
  • A valid JSON value may be an object, array, string, number, boolean or null.
  • Error position details depend on what the browser parser reports.

Frequently asked questions

Does valid JSON mean the API will accept it?

No. An API may also require particular fields, types, permissions and business rules.

Can I validate a JSON array or a single value?

Yes. Standard JSON values are supported, not only objects.
